Hoya mindorensis

....one of my favourite hoya. Just love its perfect globulous shape. It blooms frequently and easy to grow. Doesn't it look good enough to eat?

Orchids

Phal bellina. LOvely scent! TaiTai, you bought this for me : )

Coelogyne speciosa....too bad this one doesn't give a spray of blooms. It flowers one at a time and this is the fourth cycle.

one of the earlier blooms

Dinner

Decided to buy dinner last night and we chose London Kebab (KB Branch). DH had Chicken Doner + Fish & Chips and i had Lamb Doner. We were disappointed...heard that the one in BSB is good but sorry to say, KB standard is crap....it was like eating yesterday's dinner and DH doesn't like his either. I think i make better kebab and fish & chips. Well, this is one more food joint that we'll take a miss in the future. *sigh* how i missed all the good food in Singapore,,,the Indian rojak, nasi lemak, lontong, yong tau fu. I must fly back again! Lol...

Neoregelia

Apart from being attracted to weird, out of this world and exotic plants, I'm also a sucker for plants with striking colours. Neoregelia is one such plant. It is a genus belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. These are my neos.....

My Plumerias

Plumeria pudica aka Bridal Bouquet

Violet Princess

These are some of my small plumeria aka frangipani collection that has bloomed for me. For some people in our asian community, this plant is still taboo to have in the house compound. It is one of many scented flowering plants that are considered favourite dwellings for evil spirits and brings bad Feng Shui. Another common name for it is the 'Graveyard Plant'.....what an injustice to such a beautiful plant ~ reason being that the common white flowering ones are mostly found planted in cemeteries.

Glad to know that in Singapore, plumerias are becoming a favourite for those with landed properties and they can be seen growing along the roads and parks. When i was in my secondary schooling years, i remembered the whole bunch of us plucking some dark red flowering ones somewhere in Frankel Estate....it was for our dance performance for the school concert. The plants were of cos planted outside of the home compound. Ah...those were the days... I've yet to see tho, people going crazy over plumeria here in Brunei. Maybe i should go around promoting it...lol..

Apa Nak Jadi

Astaghfirullah Hal'azim....

Is this the norm in all Masjid in Brunei and the world as a whole? Wallahualam Bisawab....

I really hope, with all my heart, ada seseorang yang ber'authority' di Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama Negara Brunei Darussalam will somehow stumble upon this entry and do something. Kenapa tak make a report saja? It'll probably end up in the bin.

My little stony friends

These are some of my lithops or living stones as they are commonly known. Very interesting little plants...easy to grow once you get the hang of it. I've killed so many due to ignorance on my part....i watered them to death! Thanks to the internet, i've finally understood the dos and don'ts of growing them.
I've around a hundred plants now. Most are still tiny...i hope i will be able to grow them to blooming size. It's a matter of patiently waiting...

Aaaargh!

These 2 days had been real shitty for me. Yesterday, i turned on the stove and forgot to turn it off for half a day and got an earful from my other half! This had happened before and one time, i forgot to turned off the fire after frying some stuff and the flame must have shot way up high cos the exhaust fan, the salt and cooking oil bottles melted! The ceiling was all sooty and black smoke entered the whole house! Thank God i didn't burn the house down then. Thank God again that nothing was on the stove yesterday. Talk about carelessness...i need to kick myself hard on the head!

Today, something else happened...i was reversing from a parking lot and hit a 4 wheel drive! I swore when i looked back, there was no car coming in. This lady must have must came in when i looked away for a second. Her car only suffered grazes near the back of the car. This is my car.....grrrrr! Another earful from hubby too...eeeeks!

I'm really worried for me now...i'm really getting to be so forgetful and absentminded lately....is this a sign i'm getting some form of dreaded disease or it's just age...

Nepenthes

Some not so recent pics of my neps rafflesiana collection. These are commonly found in Brunei especially in the Belait district where peat swamp forests are extensive. The first pic i believe is N. rafflesiana Brunei Giant.
